CRIME STOPPERS OFFERS REWARD FOR RARITAN BOROUGH MAN WANTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

SOMERVILLE - Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne J. Forrest, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Stuart Buckman and Bridgewater Township Police Chief Richard Borden announce that the investigation regarding the whereabouts of Raritan resident, Robert J. Albright, age 20, who is wanted in connection with an Aggravated Assault which occurred in Bridgewater Township on August 7, 2009 is continuing.
Prosecutor Forrest states that on August 7, 2009 at approximately 11:46 p.m. Bridgewater Township Police were dispatched to the area of Morgan Lane in Bridgewater on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle and a possible fight in progress. Responding officers located the victim, Jameel Lyles, age 18, of Plainfield suffering from multiple injuries due to being struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He sustained injuries to his pelvis, a fractured shoulder, a dislocated hip, as well as chipped bones in his knee and vertebrae and numerous scrapes and cuts on his arms and the back of his head. Bridgewater Police Officers conducted an initial investigation which revealed that the victim had been struck by a vehicle which was being operated by defendant Robert J. Albright who had fled from the scene prior to the arrival of the responding officers.
As a result of numerous eyewitness interviews and the on-going investigation, defendant Albright has been charged with Aggravated Assault, 2nd degree. All attempts to contact or locate defendant Albright have been unsuccessful. Defendant Albright is a white male, approximately 5’11”, and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
Douglas W. Kimmelman, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, has announced that a reward of $500.00 has been offered for information regarding his whereabouts.
