REWARD OFFERED IN FRANKLIN SHOOTING

SOMERVILLE - Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne J. Forrest and Franklin Township Police Chief Craig Novick announce that the investigation regarding the May 29, 2009 (Memorial Day) shooting of a 33 year old Piscataway resident and a 20 year old Franklin Township resident in the area of Lewis Street and Baier Avenue, Franklin Township is continuing.

Prosecutor Forrest stated that the victims were in a parked vehicle on the corner of Lewis Street and Baier Avenue when an unknown vehicle occupied by multiple occupants drove by the victim’s vehicle and opened fire striking the two males seated in the front seat multiple times as well as striking the vehicle. The vehicle fled the area in an unknown direction.

Douglas W. Kimmelman, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, has announced that a reward of $1,000.00 has been offered for information that leads to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the shooting.
