CRIME STOPPERS OFFERS REWARD IN ROBBERY OF COMMERCE
BANK IN SOMERVILLE
SOMERVILLE, NJ - Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne J.
Forrest and Somerville Chief of Police Dennis Manning
state that the investigation into the robbery of the
Commerce Bank on June 9, 2007 in Somerville is continuing.
Douglas W. Kimmelman, President and Chairman of the
Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Somerset County
has announced a reward of $1,000.00 for information
which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual
responsible for the robbery.
Prosecutor Forrest stated that at approximately 10:42
a.m. an individual entered the Commerce Bank located
at 50 West Main Street in the Borough of Somerville
demanding money from a teller. The individual presented
a note to the teller, which contained threats to the
teller’s life if she did not comply. The teller
handed over money to the individual and he left the
bank on foot heading west on Main Street.

The perpetrator was described to detectives as a light
skinned black male approximately six feet tall, approximately
160 pounds, with black and gray facial growth. The
suspect is believed to be in his mid to late fifties
in age. The suspect was described to be wearing a red
faded button down short sleeve shirt, khaki pants,
dark colored baseball hat, silver rimmed aviator sunglasses,
and was carrying a satchel type bag with a black strap.
